Teletext Holidays - Debit Card Charges

Options
Hi all - just booked a holiday using Teletext and paid for it with a DEBIT card but was charged which I think, quite frankly, is outrageous - how else is one supposed to pay? Take the money in a wheelbarrow?
Please refer to Teletext holidays payments via Google, second link.

A quick search before booking would have found threads on here that I hope would have put you right off using Teletext holidays. Finding out afterwards isn't much help.

What are Debit / Credit card charges?

Credit and debit card charges are fees applied to cover the costs we incur when processing your payment(s)These will be shown next to your holiday offer on our site and on your payment summary once you have booked. We will let you know the charge amount when you call or pay online. If you make more than one card payment, for example if you pay in instalments, there will be a separate card charge each time, according to the card type used.

The rates for the accepted card types are as follows:

    Visa Credit - 2.5%

    Visa Debit - £2

    Visa Electron - No charge

    Master Card - 2.5%

    American Express - 3.5%

    Solo - £2

    Maestro - £2

I think you know the answer to your question as you refer to the link related to payments....as per posted above...if you want no fee, you pay by Visa Electron

I'm not quite sure what you think you can do for the OP.

She opted to pay by debit card.
Your website clearly shows that there is a £2 charge for this.

I've seen a lot of posts from Teletext in response to complaints. It might be nice if you came back and let posters know the outcome - obviously without giving any personal details.

They do tell you that when you book. A lot of cheaper companies have a charge for debit card transactions. What teletext don't tell you is how awful their customer service following booking!
