It's been a few years but we did
1 night in Bangkok, 5 night organised tour with 1 night at old capital of Siam, 2 nights in Chiang Mai and 2 nights in Chiang Rai; then a week on Phuket followed by a couple of nights in Bangkok. It is an amazing country - really a mixture of East and West.2026 Decluttering and redistribution 363/1526 Major job list 90/500 Total 453/2026

You should look at the bigger picture....0 -

I'm not quite sure what you're implying with that comment. Care to explain?
Btw I do like Penang but my hubby refuses to go back as he likes to swim in the sea without fear of jellyfish. It's hard to find clear water in many busy tourist resorts in Asia without pollution of some sort. We still holiday every year there though. It's probably my only gripe, I love pretty much everything else.0 -

I'm saying that many of the popular islands in Thailand have that same issue. Not just Penang. Do a cursory search for Jellyfish in Thailand and you'll see.
Of course not widely publicised as it could affect tourism. But the recent death of a twenty year old girl on Samui has brought it into focus.0 -
Strange as it may seem you should try High Tea or the High Tea buffet at some of the Bangkok hotels - the most amazing spread of food.2026 Decluttering and redistribution 363/1526 Major job list 90/500 Total 453/2026

Perhaps you mean Afternoon Tea. High Tea is more of an evening meal.
Indeed one can travel one stop from Centrepoint Silom(Sathorn Pier) to the Oriental Pier to enjoy Afternoon Tea in the Author's Lounge(once it reopens in December). Not my cup of tea, as I'm not a girl, nor old.
I prefer breakfast on The Verandah.0
