Hi, am looking to get our conventional boiler serviced. Been quoted around £70_ by a plumber. Before we agree I just want to know what should be actually done in service. He has said he will give me a certificate and will clean magna clean filter but I am just curious as to what should be done as far as service is concerned ... Ta

It should involve a check on any ventilation that's required, inspection of the flue system, inspection of the condition of the casing for signs of distress and water damage and all seals and gromits. Also an inspection of the burner/flame picture/ heat pads/ heat exchanger
All those checks can take anywhere between 5 to 25 mins depending on the appliance or where's it's located and might well be done without you even realising they've been checked as they may well be all within sight of each other
You should also get a burner pressure or a gas rate of the appliance and probably the flue gasses will be tested0 -
Search diynot.com forums. It's often asked and the bottom line is it depends on the guy doing it!0
