Data and image recovery

Hi, I'll be posting similar in the family section later but could do with some technical help. I've discovered my wife has been 'cheating', using multiple fake facbooka counts and tinder etc and been in email and text contact with several guys over the last year.

I'll be discussing it more on the other section, but need some help or advice with regards data recovery. I am not convinced she is being entirely honest with me still, and in a row when this all emerged she threw her phone down on the floor. I managed to convince her I'd binned it and bought her a new one, but I'd actually kept it, ordered a new screen and got it working. The problem is when she realised she was rumbled she has clearly deleted everything.

To a Nokia lumia 520. I've removed the sd card and tried using recuva software on it. It's reveLe dhundreds of photos, but I can't see them in my laptop, they are an icon with a symbol of a flower with 4 sections bit like the windows logo. There are numerous other file types too. Is there a quick easy way to restore these files to another type so I can see them on my laptop?

Also is there a way I could plug her phone in and see any call data/texts etc? Or what's app messages?

  • You may be right, but when you have been lied to like I have that goes out the window, I just want to know how to view these files. I strongly suspect none are pictures of her, I suspect they are random pictures she has taken from other girls to create her fake accounts, but I want to Know for sure

A "reads anything" viewer like irfanview should be able to load any picture type you throw at it, and in most cases it'll even tell you what the correct file extension should be. Recovered files often have the wrong extension.
