Could he travel up Monday, get local/cheap lodgings Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu nights and return home on Friday evening?
This would at least keep his job while he sorts out what to do in the longer term.0 -
Travel is done on an individual basis what is reasonable for some may not be for others.
Check the contract for the term of location and travels.
This could be a redundancy situation.
