TESCO online banking query

Hey guys
I have literally just signed up for a tesco current account, I see that their savings account pays 1.5 percent. If I apply for this whilst I'm logged into my current account, will the savings account show under the same banking login?

I know it sounds fussy, but it really would make a difference if both accounts would show up under one banking ID. I remember barclays making me have two for business and personal

Yes it would be under the same log in. You can have two current accounts which pay 3%.

I can? sole accounts? Thats even better. Do they need to be funded monthly or any direct debits?

Not now no. They removed the £5 fee recently if you didn't deposit £750 monthly.

Yes two sole accounts. DD not required. They have dropped the requirement to fund the account monthly.
  • sounds good, looks like I will have to sign up for the other high interest current account too as I have a large surplus of cash

Only just seen this, i can now cancel the £750 monthly deposit as no minimum deposit is needed.

  • ok, applied for TESCO internet saver. It mentions pulling money from another accounts, however I'd prefer to just send it via faster payments to that account, is that possible?

Yes it's possible. You just do that from the other account and send it to Tesco.

The Direct Debit option is handy for people using it for other accounts that require direct debits to pay interest. Not needed otherwise.

I did a test transfer from my barclays everyday saver to my tesco current account, £100 and it hasnt shown up in TESCO yet. Maybe im impatient but its usually instant with other banks. Is this normal?

Mine showed up within about 5 minutes. However it can take up to 2 hours.

It can actually take up to the end of the next business day and still be classed as a Faster Payment.
