RBS Credit card PPI claim

I have been following the advice on these forums for a while (although never posted or even officially joined until today!)
I have today received a letter from RBS offering me a £2.5k refund in respect of my claim - yay! Which I am accepting and it has all been down to the fantastic advice on these posts!
My question is in the letter is states that they will allocate my refund to any arrears on my card and then pay the rest by cheque directly to me. My card has a balance on it but it is (and always has been) fully up to date with no arrears so will I just receive this by cheque? Does anyone have any experience of RBS credit card refunds and how quickly they process at the moment?
Thank you for your help

They only retain funds if your account is in arrears, defaulted or had amounts previously written off.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

If you are not over your limit or late with payments they will probably offer you a cheque. Having a balance on your card which is being properly serviced is not the same as arrears.0
