Rough costings to make wordpress website more mobile/tablet friendly

Options
Hi. I have a wordpress website which I manage myself (with lots of hours of training and advice as not techie savvy). I recently noticed that the site is not mobile/tablet friendly as the large home screen and drop down menus do not fit width of the smaller devices. I have been quoted locally (in London) to change this but have no idea if it is good value or not. Any ideas or rough estimations would be appreciated? B

  • Just switch to a responsive theme. Depends what you want your site to do, but Weaver2 is very configurable - I use it for several sites. Oh, and it costs nothing.

It possible that the theme you're using is not (or not very) responsive. Ideally, you want to switch to a responsive theme. Several options around including ThemeForest - (nothing to do with me!)

Have a look at Wordpress sites which are mobile friendly and see what themes/plug-ins they are using. You may be able to use a paid-for plug-in for under $50.

To get a Wordpress professional, I'd be thinking £500 to £750 depending on the site complexity and what customisation you already have.

Plugins won't make a site responsive. It requires a change of theme and as already mentioned there are plenty of free ones.
