Good builders are usually booked weeks or longer in advance. By being in such a rush.., you might be in danger of booking a builder who is free to work for good reason. I hope you have thought this through.
Please check any builder or contractor for references and go and see their previous work if you can.
I wouldn't get too stressed about not being able to take another builder around right now.., put the time to good use.., there must be things you can do to help you prepare for the work ahead.., check prices of items you need, check what you need to order etc. Check builder /contractor references.0 -

From a business perspective they mean time, time being money.
Sorry if i sound angry but we get lots of enquiries from people wanting free surveys and quotes on houses they don't even own yet, so i can sympathise with estate agents needing to limit time wastage because some people don't appreciate that time is money.
That is all part and parcel of running a business. Just like doing lots of quotes but not getting the work.
Having been in business myself for some considerable time I have found that being helpful brings in repeat business. It is short sighted IMO to be anything else.
If I was buying a property from these agents they would not be the first ones I would turn to when selling mine.0 -

I'd be more concerned that a builder is able to start next week. Good tradespeople are normally booked well in advanced. I've just waited over 3 months for a particular guy to come and construct my garden fence.0 -

I thought she said so she could get a builder booked, not that they would be starting next week, and that an extra week delay would increase their rent.0
