How can I convert an OpenOffice doc to Excel?

Options
Hi Everyone,

I don't have Excel on my computer - just the Excel viewer which doesn't allow me to fill things in on Excel documents. I was sent a report to complete as an excel document but due to this I had to put it into OpenOffice to complete it. The person I had to send it to, however, has just got back to me to say she can't open the document to read it and asked if I could put it into an excel document. I've tried to save it as an excel document but it doesn't save properly - it keeps telling me the document may contain formatting content that cannot be saved in Excel format. I've clicked yes and tried to save it anyway but when I open it you can see some things aren't in the right place and you can't read the longer comments I've made. Is there any way around this? Thanks for any help.

Regards

Michelle

    Hi M3_Sussex,

Thanks for that but it seems to have just done what I did when I saved it as an Excel file and the same problems are still there.

Oh!! Then I don't know. Maybe you could email it to someone with MS Office who can save it for you and mail it back?

Thanks for the replies - this is what I decided to do a while ago. I was just hoping I could have sorted it out myself and then sent it to her the way it should be as it doesn't look too professional but it's not a big deal. I just emailed it to her in the Excel format and told her about the glitches - I know she'll be able to fix the minor problems at her end using her editing capabilities from the full Excel program. Also I thought that perhaps the reason I can't read my longer comments is because I only have the viewer and she may be able to see them with the full program. Thanks for the help anyway - much appreciated.

    Regards

Could you possibly go to a library and borrow their copy of Excel?
