British Gas payments on credit file

Hi. I've limited credit history consisting of a 26 month old CCJ which I aim to resolve and three open lines of credit totalling £479, all utilities. As a result my score is 'very poor'.
Two of the credit accounts are B.G, one for gas and one for electric. They're not outstanding. I've applied to have my account switched over to a prepayment meter and was told on the phone that the company would take £6 p/w from each meter towards the current bill. Will these show up as payments made on my credit file? I meant to ask about paying the current balance via DD but he'd already started telling me about the amounts on the meter, estimated weekly usage etc and I got distracted.
Also, I'm ineligible for a credit card or catalogue account at the moment understandably, but have been reading about the cash builder accounts, do these have a definite positive influence in the way that lenders view you?
Kind regards, S

To be totally frank, with a CCJ on your file. There's no benefit in applying for other credit lines in an attempt to improve the situation. The elephant is in the room so to speak. That's where your focus need to be.0
