Royal Caribbean Cruise problems

We have just returned from a cruise in the med with Royal Caribbean. Due to flight problems
(airline fault) we arrived at our ship 24 hours after it sailed at its first port of call.
We have during our holiday and since returning home tried to get compensation from the cruise company who sold us the whole travel holiday package only to be told that there is no compensation for the 2 ports missed or the 24 hour itinerary plus meals.
I feel let down by a company who prides itself on customer satisfaction.
Our Insurance company will not take up the claim with them because we hadn't taken out additional legal costs.
Does anyone know any way of applying extra pressure?

I am assuming this was a scheduled flight rather one chartered by the cruise company
Depending on the reason for the delay (you mention airline fault rather than weather or air traffic) you may have a claim from the airline under EU261. Have a start here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5173888
This would be a fixed amount based on distance so will likely be €250 per person (or may be €400)

Did you have to pay for new flights to the next stop or did RCI arrange these?

Steph I think they mean loss of a day of activities. Like someone said it's going to be the airline you need to take it up with tbh if it's the airlines fault.nif you google bott n co you'll be able to see on there if you put your flight details in if its included (you don't necessarily need to use them, but it will given out a guide as to how long the day has registered)

My understanding is that most travel insurance now do a special 'cruise' deal, which is indeed a lot more expensive, but there to deal with this exact issue. If the flight was booked independently, how is it that RCI should be the one to compensate you? It sounds like you just didn't take the right insurance for your need.

Has just re-read and understand you book the whole thing with RCI. Are you saying that they did provide some level of compensation, not all of it? Have you read the terms of condition in regards to compensation when flights delayed? Couldn't you claim directly with the airline company?

All the Terms and Conditions are available online.

From a quick read if its an airline problem you need to put energy into dealing with them. Lots of advice on here about claiming under EU regs for a failed flight.
