Spare Key & Manual (still waiting)

Hi Guys,
Can anyone please help.
My wife bought a nearly new car from the main Renault dealer, however we were missing the manual & spare key.
They said that they had to send off for a manual as it was chassis unique & the spare was at the other site but that they would post both to us.
It has now been 2 months & my wife has rung every week but is getting fobbed off, so I am going to call in at the weekend.
What is my best tactics ?
Thanks in advance guys.

  • If it were me I'd tell them they have 7 days for both here otherwise I will look to sort myself and send them the bill for time, hassle and all costs involved.

Yes it will be the best way here, Only after you have told the garage that they have 7 days to sort, By rights this needs to be in a written format, Nothing to stop you typing something up along the lines of the below though here :-

Dear Mr Independent Renault Dealer 14/10/15

I hereby give you 7 days notice to rectify the issue of the missing key and manual as per our many previous discussions over the telephone.

If I do not receive these items within the next 7 working days then I shall be forced to deal with this myself and any and all costs incurred will be sent onto yourselves to reimburse me against.

Should you then fail to do so I will of course take legal action to recover said monies via the Courts.

    Yours Faithfully,

    A Very Dismayed Customer.

If you are going to send a letter, it'd be a good idea to ensure it's grammatically correct before doing so. Gives a more serious impression.

By manual I assume you are referring to the service history book so they will need to provide the original of this or compensate for the reduction in value due to only having part service history.

keys for Renault are upwards of £180, possibly more with keyless entry and it will need to go to the dealers for the new key to be coded.

I take it you cannot read well enough then as my post was quite clear by saying along these lines. Perhaps open your eyes in future before coming out with such stupid posts attempting to belittle mine that was geared up towards helping the OP.

The danger is, 'along these lines' to many will be taken as 'copy and paste here'. My post wasn't belittling your efforts to help, so I'm sorry if that's how you read it. I was merely pointing out that if people are going to start getting all pseudo-legal, it gives a much more serious and professional impression if their letter is worded properly, spelt properly, addressed properly, etc.

Ironically, you are belittling MY attempt to help the OP as well.
