Are hand written payslips ok for a mortgage application? What alternatives are there, is a P60 ok alongside these?

Lenders don't like them, very 20th C.
Expect the lender to ask to see your bank statements to see funds going in.
If you are paid cash, expect a reference from the employers Accountants to be requested.I am a Mortgage Broker

The lender will probably ask the employer for a letter confirming your wages. The lender would expect the reply to be on the company's headed notepaper.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I would have thought 99.999% of employers use the HMRC online tool now for doing PAYE? This generates a payslip....0

I'm not sure why a small employer, wouldn't use it. It does all the calculations for you.
It generates a .CSV file which can be pulled into excel, and then formatted to be MORE readable.
It generates a p60 in Pdf format too.0 -
Well they are hand written so this is the .00001 % book keeper has been there 30 years part time, very much a 'this is how it's always been' operation, only two staff members on payroll, one being my girlfriend and the book keeper being the other, so maybe quicker to do that way rather than retrain the book keeper! Come to think of it I'm pretty sure they still document purchases in a physical book..0

If you apply directly, run it by the lender/underwriter before doing any credit checks.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Expect a query to the employer and requests for bank statements.
Something would possibly need to come from the accountant too, however the above would IME be first.💙💛 💔0 -

The Lender is very naive if they only think hand written payslips can be forgedThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
