I am in shock. In Newbie-comes-into-forum-gets-answer-he-may-not-like-but-accepts-it-in-good-humour shock.

I still think that even with a basic swing structure you may run into potential noise issues with neighbours especially if they can hear the constant back and forth motion of it.....sadly new build flats are not always very well insulated against noise and again a repetitive motion might be frowned upon in terms of your lease should a neighbour complain
Well, to be honest, the noise is not much of an issue, because in our apartment, both my upstairs neighbor and my wall sharing neighbors are my good friends, and our kids play together.
But safety was an issue.
I am going to get a swing that has a stand of its own.
Not sure of legalities around people having an issue with a kid's swing noise, if its during day time.0
