Switch incentive!

In my natwest bank I have a dormant current account , held for some years with nil money in the account.
My question is , will this account be ideal to do a switch to the Halifax to receive the incentive reward on offer?, would it be better if I put a few £s in before I apply ?, Thankyou for any advice given,

I'd put some money into the account just so you can tell when the account has been transferred over.:footie:
