Allied Irish Bank

Options
Hello all,

Mum has gone away for 3 weeks and she has just had two cheques turn up, just looked and the nearest Allied Irish Bank is 50 mins from me

I am sure the answer is no but just wondered if anyone knew if they were partnered with another bank? ie could I pay them in elsewhere

Otherwise when I speak to mum tomorrow will tell her I will do it on my day off next week

Could you not just post them to her branch or the bank's head office? An accompanying paying in slip would help but otherwise a letter with her bank details (account no and sort code) is fine. I pay in to a number of different banks, personally and for my jobs and because I live nowhere near a town, nearly always pay in cheques by post. Never had a problem

The other thing is that you can pay in to many banks at the post office. I pay cash in this way but also sometimes cheques too. You'd have to ask at the post office whether they deal with that particular bank.

I pay in a lot but haven't darkened a bank door in years!! Failing any of that, unless she needs the money now, they can wait till she gets back.

As far as I can see AIB only conduct business banking in GB, although in NI they offer personal banking through First Trust Bank. I would leave the cheques until your mum returns and can deal with them herself unless she can give you instructions when you speak to her.
  • Hiya,

Sorry I was not clear, they are for her business account

Its not an issue just spoke to her and they can wait, was just going to try and be helpful

    Thanks for the replies
