Yeah, contracted hours ... contracted to zero hours more like. We all know it's true.If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0 -
Your claimed that the rise was just down to a "small number of high paid executives"
No I absolutely did not. Please re-read my post.so what's behind your claim?
I'm not making the claim you are saying I'm making.0 -
Raw data here for those who fancy digging.

Fair enough, apologies.
To answer your question, no, it's not down to a small number of high paid executives.
In fact, a squint at the data shows the greatest rises in Construction and "Wholesailing, retailing, hotels and restaurants", which were larger than in "Finance and Business Services."I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. Twelve hours a week in my wife's case, but she's paid for 18 hours as one of the days is a Sunday.
Some people seem determined to find bad messages in what's a very encouraging set of statistics. Why not celebrate the good news while also trying to make it keeps coming?I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I think I had a similar conversation earlier. IT pay rises are coming thick and fast now.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
It's what happens when employers have to fight over an ever-shrinking pool of employees. With no slack, everyone you hire has been "poached" from another employer.
If we couldn't hire from the wider EU then we'd be totally stuffed.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

so you / your company supports unlimited immigration so you can keep your salaries down and keep the profits high;
the side effects of high house prices, strain on the HNS etc are of no matter?0 -

It's good to hear. My firm won't give payrises, but my dept is 87% offshore.
I think it's going to be time to move on.0 -

I can categorically say I'm 100% certain these things of of no matter at all to my (US) CEO and our (mainly US) investors and they are probably not even aware of all the issues.0
