Need pointing in right direction please

Options
Hi I am looking to replace my old PC which has become very slow etc. I now only use it to do the occasional letter on and store my photos, most of which I have got on a memory stick anyway. I have an ipad2 which I use for everything else but that also is probably becoming a bit slow and I am wary of the latest updates. I have been looking at tablets, chrome books and laptops and have confused myself totally! I need something light and portable, reliable, fairly future proof, easy to set up, can use easily on my wifi system, compose and print letters when required, get my emails, browse the net, do online banking and shopping, and play games such as candy crush, Yahtzee and print easily from. A usb connection would probably be useful as well The ability to use an Ethernet connection occasionally might also be useful. my budget would be in the 200 - 300 area but could pay a bit more for the right thing. Grateful for advice on what would suit me best and be easy to set up and use.

Slow PC/ IPad is usually due to them being full of junk .
I would backup important data and factory reset both before buying anything .

Why dont you try Linux and dump windows altogether..
I have an elderly pc that was getting slow ..I downloaded Linux mint.. FREE and gave that a go you can run it from a cd or from a memory stick to try it before you install it..
They do different varieties depending on how much memory you have on your current system
It has made my Pc useable ..
It just takes a few weeks to get used to..
Its just an option to consider as it would save you £300 and it is supposed to be a money saving site
    have a look here http://www.linuxmint.com/
    Everything is free

The ipad 2 only has 512mb of RAM memory which for current IOS (ver 9) and apps has become insufficient to run the OS and apps with decent fluidity. Nothing you can really do about that I'm afraid.

What is the make and exact model of your current PC and which version of windows is it running ?
Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.

You can buy a cheap 2nd hand laptopn from Ebay for that money that will last you years. As the post above states, give us the model and make of your current PC. Things may not be as bad as u think and for a few quid any computer repair company will sort it out for u.

Even an old PC can be used Wirelessly at the cost of a few pounds. Why not just humour the people who are trying to help you by answering their questions?

For the sake of a few pounds you can make your PC more useful. You can still purchase a more portable machine.
