Good morning everyone :hello:
Hubby has a few days off so he has just left the house with Max to go for a super long walk. I won't see them for hours I expect but the dog will be very happy
. It's a dry and cool day here but the sun is shining so that's good. I haven't put the heating on yet, I'm hoping to hang on till November really but will take it day by day as I hate being cold and miserable.
Hubby and the girls want steak pie for tea so that is nice and easy as it's an open the box and put it in the oven type of meal. I've used up all the potatoes so we will have to have chips with it. I had planned to make a sausage and mushroom tagliatelle but that can be put off till tomorrow.
I'm waiting for deliveries today, I ordered the girls' laptops from Argos this morning and apparently they will be here by this afternoon. Excellent service if it happens.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Afternoon all,
went to see Mother this morning. She slept through most of my visit.... Still, it gave me chance to do bits and pieces in her room. Its her birthday soon and i wanted to get her something to wear as most of her clothes are pretty shabby so i went armed with a tape measure to measure the elasticated trousers she is wearing. Her room is full of ethnic tat/christmas tat left by the previous occupant and my aim is to replace it with stuff i know she would love. Pictures and sunflowers are top on my list.
All is well with me. The house is spick and span, wardrobes, drawers and cupboards cleaned to an inch of their lives. Just need to vacuum downstairs and empty and clean the vacuum cleaners and i think i'll be done for the day.
Diet is doing well. Up all night piddling and cant be far from a toilet during the day either. Treated myself to a bar of chocolate on the way back from Moms. I dont feel guilty as it would have been classed as my breakfast as i'd not eaten anything. I find dieting so easy when i dont have to cater for other people.:(
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Good Afternoon everyone, busy day today we have Mollie again so He Who Knows took Cookie early and I walked Mollie as she arrived, like ships that pass in the night He Who Knows got home just as I left for the bus to town for top up groceries. I got back at lunchtime made us a quick roll and cuppa and then phone call from Charlie retriever and his mum so all of us did another lovely long walk this afternoon. Mollie likes chasing a tennis ball in the garden so we've had several sessions of that in between walkies. He Who Knows has just been up a ladder and pruned some overhanging branches from next doors silver birches and I've had a cuppa, all in all a good day. We should ALL, doggies included, sleep well tonight.
Supper will be some more of the butternut curry from yesterday so just a re heat and cook some rice and then methinks an early night, bliss!
Hope you've all had a nice day, Lyn xxx.0 -
Good evening all, just got in from Dds as my son-in-law managed an early finish
. I've been online confirming our holiday booking for next August on the Isle of Wight. We had a provisional booking about three weeks ago but had to wait to see if the owner was going to re-let next year We have been to this house twice before, its at Chale and very comfortable with room for the dogs in a good sized garden and plenty of room for us all to spread out.Just got to budget for the £2,400 for the fortnight now
:):).But we will manage it somehow.Sounds a lot but there are five adults and three children ,two dogs and a hamster
:):) so we do need a fair sized house.
Been quite a busy day as I was at the U3A monthly meeting and we had quite a humorous speaker, plus a nice cuppa and a biscuit.Very pleasant afternoon.Tomorrow I have the day off from rushing around so I will be peeling umpteen apples that I have been given in windfalls and boxing up for freezing.
I was lucky enough to get my washing almost dry in the wind this afternoon so I'll finish it off on the aire and then possibly iron it and get it out of the way.
Tonight I want to finish off my DD's 'blanky' that I have made for her Her office is always cold in the winter so she said she can tuck around her knees under the desk and keep warmer.
Shame Dr Foster's finished I really enjoyed that and the acting of Suranne Jones was really good, still I daresay I can find something to watch as I have quite a bit on my TiVo box that I haven't seen yet.
Hope you all have a good evening another wekk halfway gone already
Cheers chums JackieO xxxx0
