Childish unprofessional 123-reg

I've been at this domain registering / transferring for 12 or so years and I'd like to think I can work my way through it without too many hiccups.

UK2 used to be the crowd to avoid, then 1and1.
123-reg used to be the stalwarts.

So I was transferring a .com away from 123, leaving 5 days (no domain transfer I've ever worked through ever lasted any more than three).

Got my EPP code, started the move.
Got a message from 123-reg saying that they're not releasing it for 7 days.
Where did that come from? Go figure!

Just a warning of the latest childish, unprofessional actions that our friendly domain registry companies get up to.

They really are a very untrustworthy bunch.

Just a quick update today that the constant whinging and a threat to pull other domains with 123 seems to have dome the trick and the transfer only took 4 days.

For future use, it seems you have to complain and complain a lot.

Ah, maybe they're not so bad after all...
