Address for bank accounts

I want to take advantage of the 5% savings loopholes for current accounts but have a query regarding current address on the application forms.

I am currently living in London and will be moving flats in the next few months. I read that it may affect your credit rating if there are a lot of address changes in a short space of time. Therefore, I was hoping to use my parents address instead. I don't have an extensive credit history so need to build it up. Is this ok to do or illegal?

You can use your parent's address - its not illegal. However, you'll find it easier to open current accounts of you are on the Electoral Roll. Are you?

I am on the electoral roll but registered at my current address. I take it I should change this address back to my parents?

I would apply for the accounts you want now, using your current address which is where you're on the electoral roll. Then, when you move, just inform your banks along with everyone else you'll need to notify of your change of address;)
