Does the OP know how long the builder spent doing the job and what materials were used. Do these match what is listed in the invoice? If they are not listed in the invoice then ask for a break-down. Remember the builder will probably have to add VAT to his time as well as to materials costs and this can add quite a lot to an invoice's total.
