Warranty, Car Repair, Subsequent problems

I brought an 08 Focus on finance in March, at the end of August it experienced a failure in the oil cooler and was losing coolant. I took it to my local mechanics who diagnosed the oil cooler as the problem but the RAC gold warranty was different to every other gold warranty online and didn't cover the oil cooler. I contacted the place I bought it from who said who would replace it at cost (£60). So I drove 18 miles stopping every 5-10 minutes to put water in (as advised). I collected the car just over a week ago and while driving on Saturday the engine temp spiked so I pulled over. There was no coolant again, but worse the coolant tank has gone black inside. Had to wait until the engine cooled down to put more in then went to my mechanics who says the head gasket has gone. I need to know what my route is now as I should not have to pay possibly up to £1000 to repair a problem that either my warranty, or the people who said they would fix it should have taken care of.

Question is why did the head gasket go .
Lack of coolant due to faulty repair then you claim against those that fixed it .
You have already said your warranty does not cover the part .0 -
I assumed that's the route I'm going to have to go down, already asked my mechanic for a report and photos of the state of the engine. He had seen it before and after the "repair" of the oil cooler.Question is why did the head gasket go .

Was hoping someone would be able to offer an opinion on how strong my case is.0 -
Or lack of coolant because its getting in to oil ways and combustion chambers then out the exhaust --- any white smoke?
Sounds like you've overheated it!0
