Disneyland Paris cancellation policy

Hi
Last Saturday, I booked a holiday at Disneyland Paris for myself and my daughter for June 2016 to take advantage of an early booking deal. I booked online, paid in full (credit card), and booked flights at the same time.
I received an email from DLP this morning directing me to their programme of refurbishments which includes our favourite ride, Big Thunder Mountain (we've been to DLP several times before).
I would NEVER have made the booking if I'd known this ride was going to be closed.
According to their T&Cs, if I cancel I lose about 15% plus the cost of transport which is non-refundable. I called the phone number on this morning's email and the rather unhelpful person I spoke to basically said I should have checked to find out about which rides were to be refurbished before I booked. I went on to their website and could not find out ANY information about their refurbishment schedule (I took screen prints to prove it).
And the booking process certainly doesn't suggest you check anything....
So, I plan to push for a FULL refund because I'm basically not going to be getting the holiday I reasonably assumed I was getting when I booked.
Any advice would be gratefully received!

On this page there is a Learn more under the "Pardon our Pixie Dust" section that takes you to the closures
http://holidays.disneylandparis.co.uk/offers/early-booker-offer.html
If you just book from the main page it does look like there is no warning and if you just go to "refurbishments" from the main page it only lists closures up to 11th January 20160 -
Your problem may be the flights ... unless they were booked via DLP (as a package) then you'll be at the mercy of the airline T&Cs.0

*googles Big Thunder Mountain*
*Finds several pictures which look a bit like The Runaway Mine Train at Alton Towers*
But no, I'm a bit baffled as to why you've booked a whole trip outside UK based on just one mine train ride! Especially when you say " includes our favourite ride" implying that you have been there before.... Why not try Thorpe Park, Alton Towers, Lightwater Valley or any of the other parks round the UK? Or why not just take advantage of the good range of kids rides at Disneyland and have a bonding session with your daughter (teaching her that life isn't always perfect, and sometimes the "Big Thunder Mountain" will be closed)..
Criticism aside, it depends entirely on the terms and conditions and whether they are suffering a loss by you cancelling. I'd defo push for 100% reimbursement, but sometimes rides closing is just a part of life I'm afraid - you can certainly push for compensation (hint hint!) and still go but I'm not 100% sure that you will be able to get 100% of your money back!
You also need to worry about the flights, unless part of a package, as they will also be a nightmare with cancelling. This, along with the last paragraph, is why I've been a bit critical in this post because it isn't the end of the world and you can make a bad situation turn into a good one.0 -
I suppose my concern about Big Thunder Mountain does seem a bit pathetic! It's a sentimental thing really - my daughter and I have been going to DLP every couple of years or so since she was 6 -she's now all grown up and this might be the last time we go. This particular ride has always been our out and out favourite.
The magic has definitely gone out of Disney for me - thanks everyone for your replies0
