OP, this may sound like I'm having a go, and I'm really not.
But there are times when your posts can be difficult to follow, and it does make me wonder whether if your interview style is the same whether that is impacting more on your interview success than factors such as salary etc?
I think working tax credits need you to be doing 30 hours on pretty much minimum wage if you are single, but if you are entitled to it then go for it - you pay into the system so it should be there for you when you need it.
As far as the second job goes, would you be able to register for relief shifts for anything? I know how difficult it can be to fit a second job around variable hours, but if you can provide short notice cover on days off that would top things up a little bit.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
