Anyone dealt with Quindell for car insurance claim? iam fully comp and had an accident that was 100% clearly not my fault. my insurancebbroker claim line went straight to Quindell.I was told that they would settle the claim then recover from the insurance of the party at fault. Although the insurance company have accepted full liability I am still waiting to receive any payment. Is this a reliable company and why couldn't I have approached my own insurance company to sort this out.

They were completely and entirely incompetent when we used them. Very straightforward claim - other party admitted liability and informed their insurance straight away. Quindell wrote to us twice saying they had denied responsibility, which took hours on the phone to resolve each time.

Hire car was due to go back in the morning. Brimmed it the night before, it drove less than a mile to our house then they claimed something like £12 to refuel it after they picked it up.

They then had the cheek to phone and try to persuade my wife to claim personal injury as a result of what was a very minor accident.

I'd rather manage it myself than let them anywhere near us again.
  • I had to contact them for my claim because my insurance broker had their number for the claim line.Should I ring my insurance company direct and transfer the handling of the claim to them. After this I will never insure through a broker again.

I'm not sure whether you can transfer it. We were sent there by our insurance company. The other company offered to repair it initially and we said we wanted our company to do it. Our company lost interest very quickly when they realised they had no liability and sent us to Quindell.
  • My basic accident started easily BUT even though the other driver put in a at fault claim to Direct Line insurance, they rejected it! My solicitor at Quindell's trading name offshoot Silverbeck Rymer accepted the insurer decision without argument?
Due to a stroke caused by the accident I postponed my claim until I was better, But 4 months later my solicitor contacted the other driver to make a bogus claim against my Insurance policy? Conflict of Interest is proven by a later complaint through the Ombudsman.
Still not resolved 2 years later! Good luck to you all?

I had a terrible experience recently with quindell to the extent that my insurance company sent me an ex gratia payment as compensation. The accident wasn't my fault and they made the whole thing more stressful and upsetting. I will never go near a company affiliated with them again.

This seems to be the case with many insurers now. Rather than help you out with a non-fault claim, they simpler palm you off to one or other useless 'claims management company' who have their own agenda to make money by any means possible; not to resolve the claim painlessly for the insured. You are better off dealing with a non-fault claim yourself.
  • Quindell are crap.

Good sortingme the hire car out but for everything else - useless.

Had a bump non fault and was told cat C write off.

Car was running fine on the way to the accident repair centre.

When I arrived to collect the car to re sell (after rrefusing there poxy scrap value of £195) it was non starting. Whilst in there care. I was met with well it might have been due to the accident so we deem no responsibility. I'm now selling the car for £300 after I had a buyer for £700. Im so annoyed at this lack of competence and I know because its a Mazda rx8 it willbe due to flooding because they ddon't know how to handle an rx8. I'mccurrently in two minds whether tto get it into a dealer for a second opinion or whether to just call it a day and sell for £300 as a non runner. When I complained to Dan Jones (a manager at qQuindell amongst many others including my insurers etc Iwas swiftly met with a polite 'tough luck' and sent on my way going tthrough the conveyor belt process of claims handling. Thank you Quindell - be wiser - ageis - Crusader for top notch customer service and client Care. :-)
