Section 75 of CCA possible for non return of deposit?

I rented a holiday home in France through Homeaway.co.uk and paid for it all on my Credit Card. Included in the 900 euros I paid was a 400 euro deposit which would be due to be returned within 10 days.

It's been a month now since I left the house and still not have received the refund. Homeaway are useless and will not help at all and are relying on the owners to initiate the refund. The owners have replied a couple of times fobbing me off and just say there was a problem without saying what the issue is.

Can I pursue a refund through my credit card provider?

It's unlikely that you paid by the CC directly to the owner.
If so, s75 doesn't apply because of Homeaway (agent) in the middle.
