Buying Wood Burning Stoves

Hi All
Completely new member of the site and first time forum poster, so I hope I'm posting in the correct place!
Am looking to buy a wood burning stove for my home and including the cost for installation etc. it's beginning to get pricey. However I want to get it installed properly so I recognise the costs are valid.
Where I'm hoping to save money, (or spread the cost over time and ease the burden) is on the stoves themselves. I have found a site called StoveSaver.com which offers 0% for 12months.
As this seems like a wonderful offer I just wondered if anybody had any experience and/or reviews of stovesaver.com?
Many thanks

Thank you savemoney - I'll have a look through thread.
Also you are absolutely correct, it is .co.uk rather than .com
If anybody does have any experience with stovesaver.co.uk I'd be interested in hearing your feedback.0 -
It will only be a 'wonderful offer' if the stoves are significantly cheaper than elsewhere in the first place.
All suppliers have flexibility on price. As I pay cash for everything, I find some are much more flexible than others, particularly in their 'off' season.
The off season for stoves is past for this year, but you will always get a better deal by:- shopping around
- buying ends of lines/demonstration models
- paying cash
- on stoves, buying in early summer
My advice is speak to the sellers in person, find out how long they've been in business and ask loads of questions. Do this with as many as possible in your area. Your area because, sooner or later, you'll need back-up. You'll soon get a feel for who is knowlegeable and who's full of BS.
And remember, a wood burning or multifuel stove is something of a luxury for most people and it will not save money in the vast majority of situations.0 -
See if you can get any advice from someone knowledgeable who doesn't have a vested interest.
For example, I asked our (experienced and qualified) chimney sweep - who is NOT also an installer of stoves. He gave some pointers as to what to look for from an installer, what questions to ask and who he personally would ask to quote.0 -
I agree -- if you buy in logs, you won't save money on heating overall but they are wonderful and it does mean that you are off-grid in the event of power cuts and can still stay warm.
Maybe, if you just heat one room it can be economical, but I regard it as a luxury item.Je suis sabot...0
