Hi
I notice they do a Easy access account paying 1.65%,which compared to my present one with Virgin Money is a improvement.I have seen very little about this company, are they one to avoid. As anyone had any bad experiences with them?
Cheers

I had accounts with ICICI years ago, when I thought they offered competitive rates.
They are FSCS protected, so no need to avoid them BUT have a read around the forum. They are not the quickest at setting up your account, and unless you log into your account at least once every 6 months (if I remember correctly:o) you'll be locked out until you go through a reactivation process.
IMHO, not the easiest organisation if you want genuine instant access :cool:0 -
Have you looked at the many current accounts paying up to 5% interest?0

I've found them fine, no issues and no unexpected delays in terms of putting money in or withdrawing from savings account.0 -

This is a law in India for all the banks where I assume they are mainly based but for whatever reason want to implement it in the UK. However as far as legitimacy goes, yes they are safe. Perhaps slower to setup as they in comparison to other UK banks would be small as they're mostly used for NRI etc0 -
The Post Office (online saver 16) do 1.65% as well, as do some 'building socs'

I'd check the experiences people have made with the PO before I'd put any money into an account with them.Chickereeeee wrote: »The Post Office (online saver 16) do 1.65% as well, as do some 'building socs'0 -

I have long held an account with them: use it when they have a reasonable offer - no problem at all.

Tried to open an ICICI Super Saver account this evening. Not impressed with the process, especially the fact that it went pear-shaped near the end. Had cause to call their helpline before that, again not impressed.
Went for RCI. Super smooth, account now set up. O.k. so no FSCS protection, but actually I'm perfectly happy with the French protection. It's not as though France is going to go bust like Iceland. And my gut feel is that I'm less likely to need the protection with RCI than ICICI.0
