Expired button misuse for incorrectly posted/dupes/self-promotion

They should be able to see who is doing it although it might not be possible to remove "expired" from them they could use the normal warning system.

Another problem is that the expired button is being misused for dupes.

Dupes need to have a merge request submitted to a BG Please do not click expired for these posts as people can dupe themselves!

Self-promotion posts need to be reported to a BG also Please not click expired for these posts!

Just had a thought it might have been BG moved, they don't have to edit the title it's only if none of them have been on during the time an incorrectly titled thread has been moved it's certain to be "expired" misuse (but dupes, the mag thread etc.will always have beeen misuse)

.....taking a zero approach to people that post no end dates at all they go straight to GO i mean how hard is it to see that all the other comps or nearly all if they are done correctly are not posted like that.I edit the ones that have say xx/xx and no E: or E:xx/xx(no space) but sooner or later i'm gonna start moving them too

Example of what appears to have been a correctly listed competition which is still live and doesn't end until 14/11 but for some reason has been expired and moved to game over!!

I hate to say this but I'm beginning to wonder if people are expiring these posts on purpose so as to prevent other forum members entering?

Cheers but BGs do not deal with self promotion.

Cheers for the input. I do appreciate that posting as I did bumped the thread & caused an alert to subscribers of the TAB thread. I was just trying to ensure that only one BG pm was sent much in accordance with the instructions here, that I took to apply board wide ie:

Please also post on the duplicate comp thread that it is a dupe, include a link to the original thread & if you mention that you have sent a merge request to whichever BG you sent it to, then that will save others doing exactly the same thing & bombarding the poor BGs with multiple requests for the same thing.


Your method may mean that BGs receive multiple messages on the same subject or am I misunderstanding the post ?
