Homeserve!!!!!!!

We have a twist handle bath knob in the main bathroom which broke a week ago which meant the plug was stuck in the bath,a plumber came from Homeserve and told us the part to order and returned to fit it on Friday.
I had a bath yesterday and water poured down the walls in 2 rooms downstairs and the puddle in one of the rooms resulted in the floor becoming warped!!
He is coming back today, but meanwhile on checking the twist handle it isn't attached to anything.I had a look on u tube and it showed a cylindrical fitment attached to the bath and the handle was joined on to it. I'm fuming at the damage caused by this so called plumber, how could he make such a hash of it?
Rant over:eek:

Homeserve don't have a very good reputation for the quality or expertise of their contractors.
Check your home insurance, you might be covered for this incident.
If Homeserve does not agree to put right all the damage then contact the insurance company.
Be aware that might increase future premiums so ideally insist that Homeserve sort everything out.0 -
He came back today and fitted a metal part to the bath and the twist handle is now attached to it as opposed to the bath. When we told him about the damage he told us to contact Homeserve, and apologised. I still don't understand how he could not realise that there should have been an attachment to the bath for the handle to work correctly. It's like making a cake not switching the oven on, and expecting it to cook!
Think it's time for a brew!0 -
Good evening,
I'm glad the engineer has returned today and the part has now been fitted. Overall, it doesn’t seem like you’ve had an effortless experience here. Especially hearing you had water pouring down your walls. We’d like to look into this for you, if you could please email us over your policy details to heretohelp@homeserve.com we would be happy to look into this matter further.
Kind Regards,
Alice

On balance I would like to say I've only ever had good service from homeserve plumbers and found them all to be very good.0
