Water coming from under electric shower unit

Water is coming form under the electric shower unit when it is turned on . I replaced a new shower hose yesterday with a new shower head and since then the water comes out the bottom. I did find a little rubber ball in the bath so I presume the units gone. Anyone had a new electric shower fitted ? how much did it cost for the plumber to fit a new one?

There's a little pressure relief valve in the shower for safety - the rubber ball is meant to sit in the tube and only blow out if the pressure is too high. They do fail sometimes and only cost a few quid to replace. I got one from a website called showerspares. But you should check why the valve blew - it might be coincidence or could be because the new hose is not the correct diameter.
