depends on the size of it and how you're having it done. Friend of mine is having one fitted within the next few weeks and the size will be 3.5m x 3.2m and costing £85000

Hi
Had mine done last year. Measures 9 metres x 3 metres. Edwardian style with the 9m side fully glazed to to bottom looking into the garden made up of 11panels.Full wall on one side for utilities and dwarf wall on the other.
Cost me £13500. looks great.
If you are in the Nottingham area, then the company I used was Lifestlye Conservatories based in Ilkeston.

It might be worth thinking about getting a quote for a bespoke conservatory if you know of a reliable local building. I did this quite a few years ago and it worked out a lot cheaper.0

I just had a brochure from a company called Conversatory Land (think its .co.uk) - they do made to measure conservatories that you self-build (they come with full instructions) or get a local builder to do. It's supposedly much cheaper to do it this way than get a conservatory company in to supply and fit - but as this is the first brochure I've looked at I'm not sure on prices, so don't quote me on that.

I live in Burton on Trent and had a 3m x 3m conservatory built for £5000. Its their 'standard size' but has everything including half walls, reinforced roofs (Georgian type) lights, fan, plugs etc. Only thing I did myself was tile the floor. (they had concreted the floor and would have tiled-carpeted it for extra). We use it all the time and wish we had built it years ago. We put 'Poang' chairs from Ikea into it and they work really well (and are comfortable)http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10101&storeId=7&categoryId=10292&langId=-20&parentCats=10114*10292&cattype=subI'm Glad to be here... Not sure on
1) which style
2) glazed or transparent
3) glass or other
4) What flooring
also do you haggle for a deal? what is the usual margin i can expect? also can anyone recommend a good company.

Their in Eccles but I'm sure they'd do Stalybridge.
Try these people, I do the plastering for them and I know they have plenty of happy customers. And they are reasonably priced too. They will build what ever you want and advise you on it too. I know most of the lads (brickies, fitters electrician plumber and they are all good and do their job well.
I work for 5/6 different conservatory firms but I'd say these are the best.
Tell them Nelly told you about them.
Bespoke means made to you requirements.0 -
In the end its a matter of personal choice. Have a look around your area and see what appeals to you. There are plenty of ideas here http://www.oaklandonline.co.uk/
Built on small walls are useful as you get a ledge to put things on and a wall for electrical sockets etc. Most definately glass!! apart from the roof which will be multi layer translucent plastic.
A tiled floor is very practical and you can add a mat if you wish. (Dont spend a lot of money on fancy tile designs as most of the floor will be covered with chairs etc - Perhaps one fancy central tile) Make sure that the doors open back fully without being obstructed by the ledge on the outside of the conservatory)I'm Glad to be here... hi - did get a few quotes, also from elite as suggested by nelly, but waiting for a quote from them. There seems to be a lot of fluctuation in price.
Do you need to haggle?0 -
Build it yourself - if you can do the job properly you probably will save yourself 50% or more.
Kits can be purchased from most manufacturers or B&Q etc.
DON'T do-it-yourself unless you definitely know what you're doing!!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
