Hi everyone,
Has anyone been able to register a hive account for a second hand system that was purchased from new. I understand that you get a registration email with log on when you buy it new but what do you do if you dont buy it new. I was given the hub and receiver unit recently and have just bought an unused thermostat from eBay. Can I still get an account registered?
Thanks

I guess you need to have access to the account first registered for the hub, assuming one was ever created. Otherwise you need the unused activation code originally supplied so that you can create an account.

I have been looking at doing something similar so would be interested in what you discover.
I think there should be a code on the bottom of the hub that you link to your online account - I appreciate it's the online account you need - try emailing help@hivehome.com. They should be able to check the status of your hub and maybe link it to a new account.
I haven't bought anything yet but there's quite a lot on eBay, some of which mention including the username and password for the hub and some expressly say they don't.0
