Midi PC connection for my piano

I did put up a post yesterday but its gone... Oh well. Start again...

Can you suggest some midi programs I can download from my pc that I can connect to my piano via usb? I have XP.... So when play piano it goes onto the midi and can record onto it and save it etc.

I am new at this....

midi isn't the same as usb, you'd need an interface of some sort

It depends if the keyboard is USB or not, if it's older then it will need a midi to USB, perhaps the OP could kindly let us know the keyboard model.

Install the USB midi driver from here then:

My piano came today and I am awaiting for the usb cable to come through the post....

So, it looks like this one has a USB port, rather than a round MIDI one, and the keyboard should come with the driver on a disc to allow it to run MIDI over USB.

Yes it did come with a cd accessory cd-rom, gonna run cd now...
