Hi all,
Can someone please tell me if it's possible to have the above and conform with current building regs ?. The reason I ask is that my builder has installed some fire rated LED spots in the kitchen extension and has never mentioned there would be any problem. However I have recently been informed by a friend that it won't comply with building regs due to the thermal qualities of the roof insulation being compromised.
I have tried to find out online but a lot of the info is contradictory or old.
My builders are back tomorrow and I want to ask them the right questions .
Any advice would be appreciated .
Thanks,
Mark

You'll be fine, a really pedantic Building Control Officer may have something to say but then buy something like this http://m.screwfix.com/c/electrical-lighting/downlight-fire-hood/cat840954
And put the insulation over the top.
You can get led fittings that you can put insulation around directly.0 -
Thanks for the advice and link, much appreciated .
I'm using a non council BCO who hopefully won't be to pedantic.
Many thanks,
Mark0
