Two routers?

I have a BT Home Hub plugged into my master phone socket and my PC links to it via wireless. I also have and old PC that doesn't have a wireless card, but does have a network card. At the moment it's connected to another WiFi router that isn't connected to the internet. This is to facilitate connection of the old PC to a wireless scanner. I could connect the old PC to the BT Home Hub but I'd need a very long cable stretching through the house. Is it possible to connect the second router to the Internet via a secondary phone socket? I'd then have two routers connected online but I'm not sure if this would cause a conflict.

Perhaps be easier/cheaper to get a usb wireless dongle for the old pc? £2-3 on ebay etc0

You cannot have two modem routers connected to the same telephone line.
Buy yourself a set of power plugs and use those
have a look here http://www.solwise.co.uk/net-powerline-intro.htm0 -

actually it's the second cheapest/easiest
the cheapest is to move the home hub from the master socket and plug it into the telephone extension socket and second pc, and forget about the second router.
remove the bell wire from the master socket while you're at it
or just do scanning on the newer pcDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
Thanks guys for the advice. I'll see if the Home Hub will work on the secondary phone socket, but if it causes problems I'll go for the wireless dongle.0

What's the bell wire?
it's the (normally) orange or orange/white wire of the phone wiring, on pin 3 of the phone socket. Remove the faceplate from the master socket, and remove the wire from pin 3. Info here:-

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple
