Cannot Apply Norton Patch

For over the last week / 10 days I have been struggling to update Norton Anti-Virus as there is a patch that needs to be applied. When I got to apply the patch I get a reminder to close the following applications, as per the screen print below.


Despite closing all applications, it will still not update... I suspect it is something to do with this 'servicestartmenuindexer.exe' but what is it and how do I close it?

Start task manager and kill the process from there.

Or alternatively uninstall the pokki start menu (servicestartmenuindexer.exe) upgrade nortons then reinstall pokki after upgrade.

However you may want to permanently get rid of pokki menu and install classic shell instead.

It was not in 'Task Manager' to kill, hence the thread.

Thanks for the info, but I have now managed to fix it with a simply clean with CC and a restart, patch applied successfully!
