Cancellation Policy Affecting Credit Rating?

Hello Everyone,
I have question, I cancelled a motor insurance policy with Cop Op a few weeks ago a day before it was due to start, received my deposit in full. Having called them twice to ask for my cancellation of policy letter they still haven't sent me one but insist no money will be taken out and it will not have affected my score.
My issue is because I originally took out a DD with them overseen by CIS Insurance and have cancelled the DD payment from my bank CIS can therefore ask why I cancelled the payment.
Should I get that cancellation letter to show the policy was cancelled by Co Op by myself or take it in good faith that there is nothing to worry about?
