Plastering quote - Brighton

Hi All,
I have a kitchen/Dinning room that needs the walls and ceiling plastered. The combined dimensions are roughly 25ftx25ft. I have been quoted £1200. Does this sound reasonable?
Also does anybody know of any reliable plasterers in the Brighton area?
Cheers

Might not be a bad idea jason, as I'm sure you would be a fair bit cheaper.:D
I have done that in the past, stayed in a B&B, and still it cost the client less than the overcharging !!!!!! who tried to rip them off.
Its not something I would do on a regular basis, but the odd time I have, plus its a good excuse to have a break from the OH.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Carlito, I would definately get some other quotes, as £1200 is taking the peeeez:eek:0 -

Just an update on the state of my kitchen. When taking out the old kitchen and getting rid of the old tiles half of the walls have now gone back to the bricks. The dining room was an extension added on before I brought the house. The plasterboards had tiles on them and removing them caused a lot of damage to the boards.
I have had three different quotes all around the same mark. The only difference is that one of the companies that quoted will put 3 people on the job and have it finished in 2/3 days.0 -
is that for 3 walls (or 4 ) plus the ceiling?
are all 3 (or 4) walls back to brickwork........?
if so, then the plasterwork will require building up, therefore the number of days required will increase, but i would have thought 5/6 days long enough, hence possible reason why estimate is high.
how many days did they qoute for?smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....
