  • Not much posting in my own diary over the last week but a lot of lurking in other peoples diaries.... Thanks for keeping me motivated everyone :D

    So...

I've now got a revised list of renovation jobs, just need to prioritise and start getting quotes.

Am following Grocery Challenge and Take Lunch to Work challenge, think these are helping me keep spending under control. Am lurking on Crazy Clothes Challenge too, haven't bought any clothes since I did my SOA :)

Sticking to new budget so far but engine fault light is on in the car again so will have to take it in, plus a family member has been in hospital and visiting (either petrol or train tickets) will cost around £80 each time. Not great this side of Christmas but will try and pinch from elsewhere in my new budget.

Still want to make an OP this month but will wait to see what the car costs first

At least it's hump day so getting closer to the weekend x
  • Hope the car repairss are manageable! Well done on the food/lunch/clothes fronts. :)
  • No OP news for me last month, all spare money went on a family emergency. Horrible times so haven't been posting in my diary but through the worst now so thought I'd pop back and read a few diaries.

At least it's the end of the year so I can start afresh in 2016 ( yep it's resolution time, now I'm definitely going to fail aren't I? Ha ha :D )

  • Oh no, I hope everything settles down soon.

Onwards to a fresh start in 2016. :)
  • Thanks Hiddenshadow, hope everything's good with you :)
  • Hi selloptape, just popping in to say "Hi" and subscribe to your thread. Wishing you all the best for 2016 :).
  • Thanks for popping in jeanangeo all the best to you too :)
  • Thinking of you and hoping life settles down a bit for youmx
  • Normally at work at this time of year it starts to slow down for me. Not this year, it's still nuts! And the busy-ness has been brilliant, it's taken my mind off everything and given me a focus which is great.

I've made a final OP of £105 for this year and am now excitedly waiting for my mortgage statement at the end of the year! Can't wait to see what a difference my OPs have made (hmm... Might make a resolution that I need to get out more in 2016 :rotfl: )

Off to look at challenges on the DFW board to get some inspiration for 2016, anyone want to recommend a challenge?

Hi I'm quite new to MFW board. I have been in the negative income bracket for many years but you become an expert at managing, now you need to learn to apply that skill to managing when you do have money, it's a lot harder than it looks.

Our house needs thousands of repairs which we can't do if we are to reduce our mortgage so last summer I started doing carboots to raise the funds, sell a little buy some paint lolol it works for me

    Will subscribe good luck
