Anyway nerfy, what are you doing round here this time of day

simon31leeds wrote: »:T Well said - the thread has turned antagonistic and bitter - the tree, from which we all take something will wither and die if people don't face up to this reality and get over these things. Where there is provocation from trolls, people seem to be able to move on from it; the same provocation from established members needs the same treatment - move on from it and see it only as a member who you might want to block, whether old or new.
I remember the thread back in the happier days years ago where we were freely sharing codes and prize wins from I think McVities at the time - team spirit abounded, prizes shared and by and large everyone would play nice. To get just an ounce or two of that extra cameraderie back would be great. And for those that don't want to be part of that kind of world, the options are clear; why not get back in the sea or get ignored?
do i remember right you mentioned on here a few years ago you were going for a job interview and we were all rooting for you an doin the usual elite stuff.:rotfl:0 -

Sounds right bargainqueen - I was made redundant back in 2011 and got a new job after 2 months hunting. During that time I kept my motivation thanks to the ELITE support network (ESN) :-) so much has changed since then; I moved cities (Leeds to Sheffield), have changed jobs (now self employed running my own business) have a new house and have a partner of 4 1/2 years who I love dearly.
Whilst life has changed, I still follow the thread with interest whenever I can throughout it's many incarnations and nice to see some old posters have stuck around but also sad that so many have gone by the wayside. Hope that you are well and that life is good?bargainqueen8 wrote: »do i remember right you mentioned on here a few years ago you were going for a job interview and we were all rooting for you an doin the usual elite stuff.:rotfl:0 -

So does that mean when LS talks about her troubles she's depressing everyone else? Or when nanny says she had to go to hospital for a procedure is she depressing us? When bubbs talks about her sore arms she's depressing us or when the elite lurgy takes over and everyone is feeling rough they are being depressing? Or when someone comes on looking for support because some one they love is dealing with illness or had been hurt they are depressing us?
The heart of this thread has always been the love and support that has always been offered up when someone is in a time of need. Think of when Mr 3Dogs passed away, or madmuppet. The amount that has been raised for charity in honour of our members who have suffered.
This thread has been an actual lifeline to many members, when they have had no where else to turn. And I include myself in that. I am not a prolific poster by any means, I've never found a glitch or done anything that might be considered useful, but I've had support when I've needed it no questions asked.
I'm really saddened by some of the stuff I've read on here recently. I count FC a very good friend and the personal attacks are totally out of order just because she dare have a different opinion to the masses and chooses to voice it.0 -

That being said there are others on here that deal with a great deal more each day than fc but choose not to depress everyone on here by mentioning it

The sweet with the sour, the salt with the sugar - that is what makes us the ELITE - we can moan, we can boast, we can laugh, we can cry - there is always a kind heart here ♥lookinforabargain wrote: »I've read some carp on here over the years but that is right up there.
