  • Hello all

Lyn and Elona that is wonderful news about both your daughters. They must have worked so hard. Lyn as you say it is a very long "apprenticeship"to become a GP, well done Ruthie, and Elona DDs first real job since graduating, you must be so proud of her.

It is a lovely day here, 2 loads of washing done, hall carpet shampooed, have just had a snack for lunch and will be cooking roast chicken with all the trimmings for dinner this evening. Himself is watching the grand prix at the moment and DGD1 has gone into town with BF.

No plans to go out tomorrow, but on Tuesday meeting friends for lunch and on Wednesday a nail appointment. I have to stay in Thursday because I am expecting a delivery and then we are round to Friday again. I can't believe how quickly the weeks go by.

HH I hope your managed to persuade BIL to visit his Mum.

Enjoy the rest of the day

  • Good afternoon everyone,

    Hugs to everyone,

Mrs LW such good news for your DD:j
elona, congratulations to your DD for the other day.

Well the sun is out and I have a load on the washing line and the ironing up to date. House is all clean and tidy, just need to decide what to cook for dinner.

DS is at work at the pub.
DD did her trial last night and they have asked her back to work this lunchtime, so it sounds promising. I hope they are going to pay her for today and offer her some shifts. We shall hear more later I expect.
DH hasn't got any leads today, so we have just watched the last episode of this season's Nashville, so much to look forward to in the next season:rotfl:

I think we will be going out shortly as I need a new hairdryer as mine started sparking the other day:eek:

We also need to look at changing our car, as unfortunately it needs too much work doing to it to make it worthwhile to keep it. More expense, plus it is DS's 21st in a couple of weeks, so not sure what to buy him, as everything nice he has, seems to end up broken or damaged:mad:

Have a good afternoon everyone x.

  • Afternoon ((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))) if you need one and congrats to Mrs LW's daughter.

I decided to have a bake in, now I am more than crackered. Made scones, bakewell tart, 2 blind baked pastry cases for quiche or lemon meringue pie, a mincemeat turn over and a lemon drizzle cake!!

Chicken for supper tonight, I jointed a chicken last week, I am going to roast the legs tonight for supper. Bakewell tart for dessert.

Lovely sunny day, typical autumn, cold and clear, love to be out walking on days like this. Cannot manage it just now, need to get a bit fitter first.

    Afternoon everyone.

After the busy end to the week I had a lazy start to Sunday. But I've mowed the lawn (the fourth final mow of summer), aerated it with the fork and raked it over to remove thatch. All because I watched Gardener's World the other day.

I've also put stuff back into the new car though a whole load has been chucked out. Not sure what to do with the duvet I used to keep in the spare wheel well - previous car had an inflation kit instead of a wheel whilst this one has a space-saver wheel. Not too space saving for me! The duvet is from my working days when I travelled hither and thither and kept it in case I broke down anywhere cold and dark. I don't do such travelling anymore but now we're more remote it probably going to stay in the boot.

Congrats to MrsLW's DrDD - long haul but so worthwhile! You deserve to be proud!

Now I'm going to do my NCIS fest - three programmes one after the other. Breakfast was leftover chinese takeaway from last night and later there will be soup with pate sandwiches.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of Sunday.
  • Afternoon all.

    Warning rant ahead.

Way to go big man, only a real !!!!! gets totally bladdered by 11 in the morning and therefore avoiding a visit to Mum!

    Rant over.

I have washing on the line, chicken cooking in the oven, we took some veg over for FIL to cook, a bottle of beer for FIL & a room spray for MIL.

Tesco should be delivering between 8 & 9.

Hubby is watching the GP & I'm about to start making another baby blanket.

    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Afternoon all. How could I not trust the weatherforecast! By lunchtime the sun was out, a gentle breeze blowing and it feels pleasantly warm. The washing should be drying nicely.

Fruitful visit to TKMaxx! An Anne Geddes bean bag bear doll bought for DGD to add to her collection. £9 is more than enough to pay for them, I don't know where Amazon get their silly prices from! Treat Mr TA to some new slippers, a nightie for me and a little outfit for a niece's Christening present. Then a trip into Poundstretcher for wild birdie supplies - they keep me poor!

Well done to the clever DD's ELONA & MRS LW. Shame on the BIL ESTHER. He'll come to regret his actions when it's too late I'm sure.

    Take care all xx

Congrats and well done to the DDs in the Elona and Lurcherwalker households.:T
Not had anything worth reporting here really; dogless til Wednesday (boo!) and Mr LW's work are starting a two week "disaster recovery" exercise tomorrow, and that's about it. All very dull!

    Hi all,
Haven't been on as I've been pretty busy. Went to my doctor. All my "Cushings disease" symptoms have come back. He referred me to my consultant. Doing a 24 hour urine test today, and blood test tomorrow. CT scan on Friday. Then we will find out if the cancer has returned or not. :(

On a happier note, my son James got married last Tuesday. We went up to Cumbria for the wedding and had a lovely few days there. It didn't rain, and it was a beautiful day too.:T

OH has gone to Dorset to check on the progress of his house, feeling fed up on my own after being with him for the past two weeks.
    Watching the rugby instead.

DD and DGCH were here last night too, shattered now:rotfl:

    Hope everyone is okay. x

    Afternoon all,

We had a nice walk with the pooch this morning and the weather brightened up more towards lunchtime. We managed a coffee sat on the terrace of our local stately home and the lovely waitress brought Ly1a a bowl of water too :T.

This afternoon we went to look at a seconds tile place a few miles away and ended up buying some for the kitchen floor at what DH tells me is a really good price. We got 3 of a different tile just for a splashback and they threw those in.With a bit of luck the kitchen should be done by the end of the week, though I did have a disaster yesterday :o I was melting some chocolate for a traybake in the microwave ,meaning to stop it after a couple of minutes but forgot as I was also cooking a curry on the hob! only when smoke seeped from the door did I remember it and it had melted through the dish.It absolutely stunk.Trying to do too many things at once I'd mistakenly set the wrong time
Had a lovely time at the park yesterday with DS2 and the kids,DGD cycled there on her bike she got for her4th birthday. Its up a hill going and she did really well pedalling away, &lots of families enjoying the fine weather :)

Feeling tired today,Ly1a came upstairs at bedtime ,was a bit restless and went back down at 3,back up at 6.When DH went down at 7.30 he discovered she'd been sick on the new rug :(

Well done to Mrs LW and elonas DDs :T
tru the vulcan was up our way yesterday,we didnt see it but DH was watching a clip of it last night. We love Luther too.

Right time to put my feet up for a bit, might get my kind1e and have a read xx

I hope he doesnt refer to himself as a man as he certainly isnt one.

Hubby and 'Youngest' are loading up the car as i type. The kitchen has looked like a bomb site all weekend due to all the stuff piled on top of the worktops. Now its all been packed, i can breathe again without inwardly screaming.

    Have a good evening all.
