Will my CCJ effect my mums mortgage?

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone can help with the above question. I live with my mum and have recently had a ccj put on me, but I'm worried that as its registered against my address it's going to effect my mums mortgage. I don't want her to find out about it as she has too much to worry about already, but if it's going to make her have to pay more then she's going to need to know.

Thanks in advance!

It's not registered against the address itself, it is against you. Against your name.

The address is on it because that is where the claim was issued to as your usual address.

A credit check on anyone else at your address would not show it or impact anyone one else as it is not registered against their name.

I would add, if you're financial linked, it may (joint current account/loan/etc.)

Although it's unlikely you are, I admit.

Existing loan, or in this case mortgage, agreements (where the money has already been lent) should not be affected by any CCJ.

Exception may be rotating credit agreements (such as credit cards) but that can also remain unaffected providing no additional borrowing (even within existing credit limit) takes place.
