Many moons ago when toilet rolls consisted of 280 sheets per roll on average, there was a great furore as some companies tried to shortchange folk with less sheets per roll. Andrex made great play they were 280 rolls and it was eblazoned boldly on the front of the package. How times change.
I usually buy tesco loo rolls £3.35 for 9 rolls @ 220 sheets per roll. This week andrex skin kind aloe vera were on a special....down from £5 per pack of 9, to 3 for £10, so I thought I should give them a try. I was stunned to discover they were only 160 sheets per roll and inferior quality to tesco. Folk seem oblivious to this blatant rip off.

I guess you didn't read the shelf edge label where it quotes the price per hundred sheets?
Of course you have to get into serious mental arithmetic to work out the price per hundred sheets when buying three packs for £10, but everyone carries a calculator these days, don't they?0 -

I buy the 9pk rolls from Aldi for something like £1.95. They sell 2 types, I get the better quality one.0

the packets will have been "small" ones ordered and sold by the retailer at a cheaper price in order to get your custom
bit like "large milk" 99p , 2l, or large milk £1.29 which is 4 pints0 -
I wouldn't be surprised if some people on MSE have little signs above the toilet roll holder in the loo...

Bit like my local newsagent - has a handwritten sign in window advertising 4 pint milk for £1 but the bottles are actually only 2L on closer inspection.0 -

I suppose if you're careful opening the packaging, yes.0
