The British version is not out yet though!

I do recommend the British version as then the spelling is proper English rather than americanised English.

To be honest I never notice the difference - but my spelling is terrible anyway

I don't seem to be able to update Firefox from Tools > Options > Advanced >Software Update - Check Now.

I have tried even without firewall and anti virus applications running.

It manages to connect and find the update available but when I click "Install now" I get an Installing Updates screen but nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Mine did the same. I had to goto the Firefox webby and dl it manually.
