Gas Boiler - who to trust and what is best?

A new car doesn't have to be serviced for the first 3 years? I think?0

What is wrong with de sludge? And a magnetic?
Then see if your boiler is still messing up.
That way you can spend less than £200
And if it is still messing up, buy a cheap boiler and get it replaced.
Just googling the boiler that plumber number 1 seems to choose and it seems to be one of the pricier ones, you can get decent boilers with the kit for less than a grand.
What electrical work needs doing? Presumably extending the supply?0 -

As I explained upthread, a desludge and magnetic was going to cost £720 and a new boiler, desludge and magnetic £2000 so the latter seemed better value.
I'm in a new pickle now.
The RGI fitted the boiler over the weekend and has now gone on to another job so I haven't seen him since Sunday. He says we cannot switch on the new boiler because the electrics aren't right. Apparently this new boiler needs a "5-min run off" which means the pump has to continue for 5 mins after the boiler is switched off. The pump is on a different storey and a different part of the house. Now I have to employ a builder to run about 100ft of cable from the airing cupboard up through the ceiling and all the way across the attic then down through two ceilings to the boiler.
I spent most of today phoning around only to find all builders and electricians fully booked up for the next few weeks.
We have no heating. It's freezing. It's turning into a nightmare.0 -
He said electrics were included lol
When i said de sludge, i meant just de sludge and drain the system then fill it up, no power flush.. but you have changed it now so...
Are you sure you have called all of the electrician in the area??? They're not usually all busy.
Time to get the electric heaters out?0 -

Yeah I think he meant normal electrics, not new electrics, I suppose. Otherwise, why isn't he doing it?
Oh sorry, I don't know the technical differences ... he did a power flush.
Most of the numbers I called there was no reply. I left messages but none of them have called me back. So I am speaking only about the ones who answered the phone.
I now have someone who is coming to look a the job tomorrow night however he needs to know what type of cable is needed and I don't know and the RGI guessed but that isn't good enough, I have to buy a drum so I need to get it right.
We all four have a convector heater on now.0 -
have you paid this rgi
as he took the job on, he should be finding an electrician if he isn't capable.Don't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
