Saving money for grandchild

I want to open an account for my grandchild for his christening present...does anyone know which is the best way to do this please...I want to start off with £100 but want to be able to add to it as he gets older.

May I suggest doing a search on this forum?

Just in case you have searched before but found too many postings, here is a way that will give you what you want, hopefully;
Assuming you are logged in:
Click on Search above
Click on Advanced Search.
In Keywords, use child
Just under that, there is a box with a down arrow. click on the arrow, then choose Search titles only
Then on the right hand side of the screen, there is a list of the forum names. Scroll down this list until you find Savings and investments, and click on this.
Then click on search now.

I'm trying to get my head around things. But (think) I am going to start with a Halifax regular saver at 10% interest. (There is plenty of information about this onsite). And once the year is up and I have a decent amount saved I will transfer to the best rate I can find.
