problem connecting with wifi

have a virgin media superhub when I connect to my wi fi it works fine on my phone & tablet but on my laptop it wont connect all the time & does not connect with Ethernet cable either ,when I run the troubleshooter on laptop it says wifi does not have a valid IP configuration ,it says this aswell if I try the Ethernet on it aswell. it is ok now as I am on it writing this.any ideas nothing to complicated as I am not very computer minded .thanks

You could try re-establishing the connection.
Odd though, that it's hit and miss, even on an Ethernet cable.
Is it working fine on the tablet and phone, at exactly the same time as you are having problems with the laptop?0
